Frequently Asked Questions
When should I book?
Orders are first come, first serve. I recommend booking at least 4 weeks in advance. However, I do my best to accommodate needs. Please don't hesitate to reach out and if I can make it happen, I will!
Do you use fondant on your cakes?
I specialize in buttercream cakes and use buttercream for most decoration. However, I use homemade marshmallow fondant for details on cake when needed for texture and decorations. I don't cover cakes in fondant, except in rare circumstances where it is required to fit the final product.
Can you replicate a picture of a cake or cookie order?
I love inspiration pictures that can help describe the theme or vision you have in mind! However, I try to add a creative twist of my own to set my work apart and not replicate others' exact work. I also don't create work that includes profane images, language, or promotes bigotry.
Can I request a flavor or item that is not on the menu?
I am always open to trying something new! If you're craving something specific I don't currently offer, let me know and I would love to try and accommodate.
How does payment work?
At the time of booking, I require a nonrefundable 50% deposit to secure your date. When accepting orders, I am marking that date off of my calendar to have adequate time to complete your order. The remainder of the payment is due at the time of pick up. I can take Venmo, Paypal, or credit card via Square. If you have any questions or concerns regarding this, please let me know.
Do you deliver?
I can deliver, and would prefer to do so for cakes more than two tiers. An additional fee for delivery will be applied dependent upon the location.
Do you offer allergen free desserts?
I do my best to accommodate dietary needs when able to and prevent cross contamination, however I don't currently offer gluten free, dairy free, or vegan treats. While not every menu item contains allergens, my kitchen does come into contact with common allergens on a daily occurrence. All items sold from this bakery will include a label listing all ingredients.
Are you a registered bakery?
Baked By Bryant operates as a Cottage Bakery. Under Iowa legislation, cottage bakeries may sell labeled baked goods directly to the consumer. I am dedicated to operating in compliance, so I am only able to sell shelf-stable items. To add to my dedication to best serve my customers, I have completed Iowa State's "Home-Based Kitchen Operations: Regulations and Food Safety Course," I am registered as an LLC, and I carry business insurance. Do you offer edible images?
I do not currently offer edible images. I decorate with buttercream, fondant, and hand paint details.
What is your refund policy?
All sales are final. In the event you are not satisfied, please reach out within a timely manner. It is important to me that I have satisfied customers and value feedback.
